Rivers Crisis: Another Amaechi Loyalist Quits

rotimi-amaechi-ipy2013-1 (1)Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s camp suffered depletion in its ranks as chairman of the state Local Government Service Commission (RSLGSC), Chief Azubuike Nmerukini on Thursday resigned his appointment.
Nmerukini’s resignation brings to three the number of the governor’s loyalists, who have resigned their appointments since the state began to experience political crisis.
First to resign was the Special Adviser on Flood Control, Hon. Obinna Anyanwu, who left because of the anti-Amaechi stance of his father, Prince Emma Anyanwu, then followed the resignation of the Commissioner for Urban Development, Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo, who reportedly left following the governor’s recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Although Nmerukini, who is the immediate past Mayor of Port Harcourt City, told reporters in the state capital that his resignation was based on personal reasons, but it was gathered that he was shown the exit door following his refusal to join his boss in his defection to the APC.
