21 Political Parties Fuse Into PDP In Kaduna
The Peoples Democratic Party’s drive for more members received a massive boost yesterday as 21 political parties under the umbrella of ‘Twenty One Political Parties Alliance’ fused into the ruling political party in Kaduna State.
Henceforth, the parties, according to the Chairman of the Alliance, Alhaji Inuwa Ahmed, who is also the State Chairman of the now defunct United Nigeria Peoples Party, UNPP, are members of the PDP in the state.
Ahmed said the decision of the 21 political parties to merge with the PDP was to ensure peaceful co-existence as well as to work for the progress of the State.
“We are 21 political parties and we have decided to join PDP today officially, to work for peace and progress of Kaduna State. We are here to extend our cooperation and hands of friendship to the PDP, we have enjoyed a lot of privileges and cooperation from PDP and PDP has benefited in no small ways in working with us. On several occasions we had been able to deliver to PDP since 1999”, he said.
State PDP Chairman, represented by Alhaji Ishaku Aliyu, while receiving the various chairmen of the parties, stated that the doors of the PDP were open to the new members.
