Northern Governors Forum Calls On FG To Carry Out Proper Investigation Of Attack On Kwankwaso’s Father

Northern-governorsThe Niger State governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has called on the federal government to properly investigate the recent attack on the district head of Madobi, Musa Kwankwaso, who is the father of Gov. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State. The district head was attacked last week while performing prayers in the mosque at Kwankwaso Town. Though he escaped unhurt from the attack, three worshippers in the mosque were killed.
Gov. Aliyu made the governors’ demand known when he led a delegation from the Forum on a visit to the Kano State governor.
He said the federal government must conduct a proper investigation into the attack with a view to unraveling the masterminds and bring them to book.
The Niger State governor added that it was high time members of the public assisted government in protecting life and property as security was not solely government’s business. He said the public could assist government by providing security agencies with vital information.
The delegation comprised the governor of Jigawa, Sule Lamido; Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto; and the deputy governor of Katsina State, Abdullahi Faskari.
In his response, Kwankwaso expressed his appreciation to the forum for their concern, adding that it was high time they work together to ensure that situations like that which happened in his hometown was averted.
