Defection: PDP Not Intimidated By APC, Says Shagari

APC vs PDPAlhaji Mukhtari Shagari, the Sokoto State Deputy Governor, says the recent defection of some politicians to another party was not intimidating the Peoples’ Democratic Party.
Shagari, who is the leader of the party in the state, said this on Saturday in Sokoto in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
“This is because other people have also come back to the PDP, and this is also across Nigeria.
“Moreover, the constitution of the country has given everybody the right to associate with whoever he wants”, he said.
The deputy governor also said the PDP in Sokoto state had remained united and resolute.
“We are poised to win the elections in 2015 at all levels”, he said.
In a separate interview, Alhaji Ahmed Gusau, a former Deputy Governor in the state, said also that the PDP umbrella could accommodate everybody interested in being part of the group.
Also, in another interview with NAN, a former Director-General of the National Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria, Alhaji Mahe Dange, said PDP was not intimidated by defections.
“The PDP cannot be intimidated by a baby.
