Hajj Agent In Court For Allegedly Defrauding Intending Pilgrims

An Ilorin Magistrate’s Court has remanded a 46-year-old Hajj and Umrah services agent, Mallam Mohammed Salawudeen, in Police custody for allegedly defrauding intending pilgrims to Mecca.
Presiding magistrate, Mercy Abikoye, ordered the accused person to be remanded at the state Criminal Investigation Bureau, CIB, of the Police headquarters till December 17, when hearing will begin on the case.
The Magistrate had rejected the oral application for bail made by the accused counsel, Mr. Wale Obadofin, on the ground that the accused person had earlier jumped police bail, but was re-arrested in Kano International Airport on his way out of the country.
