Ramon Azeez Scores His First La Liga Goal Away At Betis.

Nigeria international Ramon Azeez scored his first La Liga goal on Sunday to help his club Almeria end a run of four matches without a win against rivals Real Betis.

The midfielder, who turned 21 9 days ago, scored the only goal of the match involving two Andalusian clubs as Almeria moved six points clear of Betis and a place above the relegation zone with 16 points after seventeen matches ahead of the Spanish League’s winter break.
The former Nigerian youth international took a left-footed shot from distance and with the help of a huge deflection from defender Paulao beat Betis goalkeeper Guillermo Sara at his near post following an assist from Alex Vidal.

He twice had an opportunity to double his tally, first shooting from a distance but widely four minutes after his goal, before his impressive solo run was foiled by Sara in the 35th minute.
The vital three points away from home helped Almeria ease off their relegation woes and confine Betis, who has not won since October, to the bottom of the table.
Another Nigerian Nosa Igiebor, who is still recuperating from a lingering groin problem, was not listed for the encounter.
