EFCC, SSS Releases Top Jigawa Govt. Officials From Custody

The State Security Service (SSS) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have released top Jigawa State government officials that were in their custody 18 days after they were first arrested.

It was learnt that the affected officials were left off the hook yesterday as their continued incarceration made payment of salaries and other government financial responsibilities difficult to carry out.

Among those released are the Accountant General of the state, Alhaji Sani Jahun and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources Alhaji Ibrahim Alhaji.

Others are the Rector, Jigawa State Polytechnic Professor Garba Goje; the Provost, State College of Education Gumel, Dr Dahiru Abdulkadir; the Chief Accountant, State Universal Basic Education Board and the chairman of the board, Bashir Gumel, among others.
