Book Presentation In Honour Of Obasanjo Postponed Indefinitely
The Public presentation of a book dedicated to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who has been in the news recently for a scathing letter he wrote to President Goodluck Jonathan, has been postponed indefinitely.
The book, titled “The President of Presidents”, highlights Mr. Obasanjo’s performances and achievements while in office as military ruler from 1976-1979 and civilian president from 1999-20007.
The postponement was made known by Paul Oni, the author, in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Mr. Oni explained that the launch earlier scheduled to hold on November 28 had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
The author in conjunction with the Olowu of Owu, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu, and others had finalized plans for the launch slated to hold at the expansive Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL, Abeokuta, before the sudden development.
According to the book launch programme, President Goodluck Jonathan was expected to be the Grand Guest of Honour, while Chairman was to be former Military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar; with former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governors Sule Lamido and Godswill Akpabio of Jigawa and Akwa Ibom States respectively, to serve as chief launchers among other dignitaries.
The author, on behalf of other organizers of the event, said he regrets any inconveniences the postponement might have caused, adding that a new date would be communicated to the invited guests soon.
“We regret the inconveniences to our invited guests. We appreciate you all and wish you God’s blessings. New development about the book will be communicated to you soonest”. he said.
