The Senate on Thursday soft-pedalled on its initial resolution on the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah to appear before it in plenary to explain how the aviation industry was run as it has now instead ordered her to appear before the committee on aviation.

Recall that the Senate had in a resolution summoned the minister to appear on the floor of the senate to give account of her stewardship on how the ministry is run with special focus on the air crashes that had taken place under her watch as minister.
But in a resolution sequel to a motion sponsored by the Senate Leader, Chief Victor Ndoma-Egba, and seconded by the Minority whip, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, the senate rescinded its earlier position that the minister and the Chief Executives of the Aviation Parastatals should appear at the upper legislative chamber during plenary.
In the resolution, the senate instead said, “That the Minister of Aviation and Chief Executives of Aviation Parastatals do brief the Senate Committee on Aviation on the state of Aviation sector on the high number of Aviation incidents in the country.”
