SHOCKING: Woman Caught With Dead New Born Baby Inside Sack (GRAPHIC PHOTO)

mujidat-dead-baby
The mother of five was caught by a high Chief, Babatunde Balogun a member of the community when she was trying to dispose the baby at about 5p.m on Wednesday.

According to report, when Balogun questioned her on the content of the sack, she said it contained household items which bought from the market but when he looked closely, he noticed it was a dead day old baby which the woman had allegedly just delivered.
That was when he raised an alarm calling the attention of other residents.
Mujidat said she didn’t see the need of going to any hospital to deliver as she found delivery easy and therefore claimed to have done everything herself.
It was gathered that different men have been visiting her home after the death of her husband three years ago.
When asked if she planned to throw away the baby because of an alleged paternity mess, she denied, claiming  that a welder turned block maker near her residence was responsible for the pregnancy that resulted in the birth of the dead baby she was caught with. .
Officials of the Community Development Association, CDA, in the area later accompanied the woman and her sack of baby to the Isheri-Oshun Police Division where the matter was reported.
At the time of this report, the woman was still being interrogated.

FG Lied About Releasing N100bn To Universities – ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has alleged that none of the universities had received any money from the N100bn the Federal government claimed to have disbursed to 59 public universities to improve infrastructure.
“The truth is that government is paying lip service to the development of education in this country and has therefore resorted to playing politics with the education sector and the future of our children.
“It is rather unfortunate that majority of those who are leading us today went to school in their time on scholarships, but today they do not want our children to benefit from that same gesture, all because of greed.
“Today we are faced with a situation where the amount Nigerians spend yearly to educate their children in Ghana is far more than the yearly budgetary allocation to the education sector.
“Our leaders are not being fair to our country, government should as a matter of priority implement its agreements with ASUU, Nigerians are tired of this deceit; they should remember that if they continue to negate their responsibilities to the people, one day they will certainly give account to God.”
Meanwhile, former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon has appealed to both parties to strike a compromise for the sake of our children and the country.
Speaking in Lagos, at the launch of the first edition of the Shell Nigeria Scholars Forum, for the beneficiaries of its scholarship, General Gowon argued that one of the parties must be prepared to yield ground in order to save the education sector.
He said: “I do believe it is time for all lovers of education to come together and get both the federal government and ASUU to return to the negotiation table and resolve all outstanding grievances. Both sides must be willing to yield ground for the sake of our children and that of our dear country Nigeria.”
In an elaborate ceremony chaired by Gowon, the Country Chair, Shell Companies in Nigeria, and Managing Director, SPDC, Mr Mutiu Sunmonu, said the forum “would serve as a meeting place for all beneficiaries of Shell post secondary scholarship schemes.

Why I Prefer Dating White Guys To Nigerian Men –Nollywood Actress

eefb042aab7863d88951df1f6a7b7022
Cynthia Agholor will tell anyone who cares to listen that she has been having a wonderful time in Nollywood even though she started acting as a child many years ago.

What has not been kind to her, as Cynthia is certain to tell you, is the media who have continued to spread negative stories about her.
Beautiful, busty and brainy, Cythia is a simple woman who will rather have a glass of wine instead of going all the way even with the man of her dream, out of wedlock. In this chat with Showtime Celebrity, she opens up on variety of scandals trailing her career and why she prefers dating a white guy to a black man.
Where did you grow up and what was it like growing up?
I grew up here in Lagos at Ebute Metta. Though I can’t speak Yoruba fluently but I understand the language. I didn’t get to mingle freely with Yoruba people because we lived on Herbert Macaulay Road where we don’t have many Yorubas. I attended St. Jude Primary and Secondary Schools, in Ebute Metta. During my Secondary school days, I travelled to Aba to sojourn briefly with my aunty. I sat for my JSCE in Aba before returned to Lagos for my SSCE.

Within this period I have been into acting. Then as a child I was in “Tales By Moonlight”, “Kiddies Vision 101”. I have been doing all these kiddies stuffs with NTA since my Primary School days. The only period I had a break from acting was when I went to Aba to stay with my aunty. I also stopped acting for a while when I got an admission into Federal Polytecnic, Oko, in Anambra State.
When I was in Oko, I did a bit of modelling because modelling was a lot easier than acting. While acting takes you from one place to place, you can do modelling within the area you are based. After my education and the National Youth Service Corps in 2006, I came back to Lagos and since then, I have been doing one job or the other. Now, I am an actress and a producer.
There is a belief that some stars worked their way through; while others either slept their way through or simply got lucky. What worked for you?
Right now I wouldn’t even call myself anything. Whatever happened to anyone in this life God must have allowed it to happen. I only thank God for taking me where I am today. When I was growing up in the industry I had friends that are now bigger than I am. Someone like Genevieve Nnaji, we all grew up together in the industry and we were like friends, moving around from one place to another, looking for jobs but today she is everywhere in the world. That is how God has decided to bless her. Because I am not like her today doesn’t mean anything to me. To me, the way I am now is the way God wants me to be. Whatever anybody is in the industry; whether you worked your way, slept your way or got lucky it is the destiny God has fashioned for you.
One actress once told me that it is impossible to go through the industry without being sexually harassed. How true is that?
Yes, it is not exactly untrue but it all depends on how you conduct yourself. s*xual harassment is always there, not only in the movie industry but everywhere. Even though it is always there it is not a must that everyone must experience it. Maybe, she was unlucky to have met those randy producers and directors but there are decent people also.
In your own case, did you ever encounter such ugly incident?
Well, in those days when we were growing up in the industry there is no lady or young girl that would say she didn’t encounter s*xual harassment in one form or another.

Even me, I had my experience but I shrugged it off and made the person understand I didn’t come into the industry for that. When the person wouldn’t budge I left that production for another production where I knew they were decent people. Thank God, I met some decent producers and directors who featured me without harassing me.
As a well-endowed woman, would you say that has helped your career?
(Laughing) I really don’t know but judging from some of the roles I have played it could be as a result of my endowment. Like the recent movie I did the producer actually wanted me to show off my b**bs, he said to really compliment the role of a husband snatcher.

Even the one I’m doing right now in Ibadan I’m playing the role of a seductress. Anyway, most producers have featured me in roles that portrays me as a sexy character. But really I don’t know, maybe if I’m not well-endowed they wouldn’t have been starring me in such roles.
What do you really think enriches one as an actress, beauty and talent?
I will choose talent over beauty or appearance. There’s no way you will look as a human being that you will not have a role to play. Regardless of your looks, if you are very talented they might create a role for you, from there you can be a big star. And I will not call appearance into it now and I will not say beauty because there are many beautiful girls out there who are not talented and they are just there, not making it. And there are some ladies who are disadvantaged by their looks but are making it because of their talents.

Have you ever had a romantic relationship within the industry?
No.
Why?
I just don’t want to.

So, you have never been approached or what?
Of course, I have had several approaches but in the film industry where we are I see everybody as my brother. Maybe, it’s a principle, I just don’t want to date anybody within the industry.

There has been many scandals about you. How have they affected your career?
At first, when I started reading untrue, scandalous things about me, as a human being I was depressed. I would feel so bad that I would want to know the person who wrote the piece but at a point when I realised it wouldn’t just stop , it just didn’t bother me any more. I am who I am and whoever knows me know who I am. It has not affected my career in any way and I am consoled by the fact that God knows the truth.
There was a rumour some time ago that you fought with Cossy Orjiakor in public and got yourselves stri*ped?
That was a very big lie but then what do I do. I heard it but had to overlook it because that was a very big lie. Even at the end of the day, the person that wrote the story came to apologise to me. The journalist said she just wanted to make noise. For me, it’s a bygone, I wouldn’t do that with anyone let alone Cossy. Cossy is my friend. I never had a fight with even my enemy.
The report was trying to paint a picture that you and Cossy were in competition with each other over whose b**bs are bigger and finer…
(laughing): I never knew that. I think I am hearing that for the first time. Cossy is my friend. We never quarrelled even during the time we lived together. At a time, she was staying with me and later moved into her own house. When some people see two people being friends they just imagine things and write stuffs about them. Me and Cossy are still friends till date.
Can you marry a married man like some of your colleagues in the industry are doing?
Oh, what a question! I wouldn’t marry a married man because the man is married. I can only marry such a man if he is divorced. If the man is divorced he is no longer married, then I can marry him with or without children. There is nothing wrong in a man having children. If the person is nice and we are compatible, why not? I don’t mind
So, what will attract you to a man?
First, the man has to be very humble, God-fearing and truthful. I don’t see why two people in a relationship should lie to each other. I like people to always tell me the truth regardless of the situation. I think that is the major thing that attracts me to a man. I like surprises. Instead of telling me things to elevate yourself let me find out and be surprised. I love men who are humble.

What do you first consider before picking up a role?
The story. I love good story-lines. If the story is not so good I can call the producer and make suggestions because I am a writer too. If the person doesn’t want to take corrections I could drop the script. I really love doing something very interesting. It is not all about money all the time, sometimes, it is just about giving people something to remember you by.

What’s your idea of s*x generally. How often should it be done?
I think s*x is good when someone is married. You know, you do it without fear of committing a sin or committing adultery. s*x is something every couple , married couple, should do, probably, everyday, I don’t know, probably every time they are moved to do it.

s*x has the real pleasure when you are doing it without any form of fear. I’m not saying unmarried people should not engage in s*x because there is nothing I will say that will make them stop but somebody like me, every time I do it I always feel bad that I’m sinning against God. Even before s*x I feel frigid because there is always that looming fear that I’m not doing what is right. That is for me, I don’t know about any other person. If I’m married to the man then I will feel very free and enjoy it very well.
You and Elvis Lamptey, a Ghanaian producer, you are reportedly dating, what went wrong, they said you dumped him for another lover?
Yeah, I have never reacted to that story! Who will believe me if I say I don’t know anybody called ‘Elvis Lamptey’. I don’t know how they came up with that, maybe because I went to Ghana to shoot a couple of films. Please, I don’t know anyone by that name. The only Elvis I know is Elvis Chuks, a Nigerian director and actor. He has been my friend for years and there has never been any romantic involvement between us.

When I read the story online, I was shocked. The only Elvis I know I haven’t seen for a long time. Even at that, I don’t feature in his film because we don’t even get to see each other. The last time, I saw him was at an event and he was like “Cynthia, where have you been all these years?”. That day he introduced me to the girl he wanted to marry.
The report said you dumped the Elvis Lamptey for one Udofia Ugoo, who is a US based entertainment promoter…
(Cuts in): honestly, that is another big lie. I don’t know anybody by that name too. What is bad about the whole thing is that I am in a big relationship and if the man doesn’t know me very well, he might be thinking I am doing something else somewhere. It is not fair. It is very wrong for people to just concoct things that never happened and slam it online to tarnish your image and disturb your life. The only Udofia I know is Cornel, the publicist. I have never known any other person by that name.
You once dated a White guy and there was an interview where you said you regretted dating a White guy…
(Cuts in) that was years ago. Did I ever say I regretted dating the guy? That was a long time ago and now that I am more mature I will say White guys are better. For one, they wouldn’t break your heart unnecessarily. If you want me to compare I will say White guys are better lovers because of their truthfulness.
What if we look at the difference between the two in bed. Which would you say is better?
(Laughing) oh, what a question! Well, it depends on how you go about it. A man is a man. I am not saying that Black men are not blessed naturally more than the whites. They seem to be more endowed but then it still depends on how you go about it. You can get whatever you want from the white man depending on how you go about it.

So, what are you working on now?
I am still working on a soap opera that will be finished soon. Five episodes have already been shot. Season one is already out, we are working on season two and three and we are planning to release them together. We are also planning another movie that will be screened in cinemas. I have a partner I am working with. Those are the ones I am doing on my own. I am also working with other producers on variety of jobs.

Oduahgate: Anti-corruption group wants Aviation Minister jailed

image
Some Protesters had on Wednesday demanded that the Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah be properly investigated, tried and jailed if found guilty with regard to the alleged N255M car scandal.

The group made this request when they marched to the Lagos Office of the Independent Corrupt Practice and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.
The protesters, at about 10:15am stormed the ICPC office, resisted police confrontation and forced their way into the ICPC office premises.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Chairman of the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, Mr. Debo Adediran, emphasised on the importance of the protest, affirming that many lives had been lost in the Aviation sector. He blamed corruption for the woes of the aviation industry.
He said, “The purchase of the bulletproof cars is outrageous. It is the ICPC that should deal with anything that has to do with official corruption. Their reaction has been that they have not got a petition to act and that is why investigation has not begun. Now we have submitted a petition, we want them to act.
“It is saddening that the President who should set precedence for Nigerians to follow could be shielding the indicted and even include them in his entourage to Israel on holy pilgrimage. It is also not unlikely that Ms. Oduah is in the league of Mr. President’s benefactors.“If Oduah is found guilty after the probe, we want her to go to jail; we want anybody found culpable to be prosecuted diligently, we want anybody found guilty to be adequately punished and until we get that, we will not rest.

“Though the President has set up a panel to investigate the allegations, it must be noted that most of the time when President Jonathan sets up his panels, they are to bury the issues rather than bending it to justice.”
While presenting their petition to the ICPC, the protesters requested that the body begins immediate investigation into the activities of the Minister; the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority; Nigerian Airspace Management Agency; Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria; and other key agencies under the Aviation sector.
Mr. Binga Shintema, Chief Superintendent of ICPC in Lagos, who addressed the protesters on behalf of the Commission promised to act on their petition as soon as possible.

ASUU strike: Wike shuns journalists after secret meeting with Union, stakeholders

6478fc471e4869fd457c456c013c2e2d
In a continued effort to resolve the ongoing face-off between the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and the federal government, an emergency meeting was on Tuesday held between the Supervising Minister of Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, and the Union.

It was reported that nothing tangible was gathered regarding the outcome of the meeting that lasted for only one hour.
Attempts to speak with the ASUU President, Dr. Nasir Fagge and the Minister failed, as both of them refused to disclose the outcome of the meeting to journalists.
The ASUU Head only responded after series of questions that, “I am not in a position to talk.”
Apart from the Minister and the ASUU chairman, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Julius Okojie; the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Isaac Adewole and a few other national officers of the union were equally at the meeting.
Relatively, Vice-President Namadi Sambo had a brief meeting with stakeholders in the nation’s education sector on Tuesday.
No details of the meeting’s outcome were made available to journalist as none of the members agreed to speak to the press.
The stakeholders were led to the Presidential Villa by Wike and other members of the delegation, including Okojie and Adewole.
Some members had earlier told journalists who were waiting outside the venue that the Minister would address them, but Wike did not respond to questions when he came out of the Vice President’s office.
ASUU has remained on strike for nearly four months, in protest of the Federal government’s failure to implement the 2009 agreement it signed with the Nigerian government. It has said that until hundred per cent of the said agreement is implemented, the nation’s universities would remain shut.

National Conference committee apologises to Oshiomhole over disruption of presentation
oshiomole
The Presidential Advisory Committee on National Dialogue has apologised to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State over the unruly behavior of one its members, Colonel Tony Nyiam (rtd), who led some participants at the conference held in Benin City on Monday to shout down the governor while he was making his presentation.

The Committee in a statement on Tuesday noted that it is committed to hearing different opinions on the proposed conference, adding that such behaviour would not be condoned.
“The Committee wishes to state its unequivocal commitment and that of its members to the principles of democratic discourse. Although, we take special exception to the unruly conduct of one of our members who joined the crowd in shouting down the Comrade Governor of Edo State, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, while he was giving his remarks, the session continued and ended peacefully.
“We want to emphasize that the Committee will listen to all shades of opinions in the areas of its mandates and will not henceforth condone the kind of unacceptable behavior we witnessed in Benin City.
“The Committee wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the Government and people of Edo State for providing support to the Committee in its assignment in the state.”
The All Progressives Congress, APC, had yesterday condemned the disruption, saying the action has vindicated the party’s decision not to be part of the proposed conference.
A statement by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the Committee must thoroughly be ashamed of itself that one of its members led the “show of shame.”
The party demanded an unreserved apology from the Committee to Oshiomhole and that the member who acted so unruly and irresponsibly be publicly cautioned or excused from the Committee.
APC said in proposing the conference, the government has no sincerity of purpose, does not believe in engaging in any dialogue with anyone but itself and has only used it to distract the attention of Nigerians from the total absence of governance and sense of direction by the Jonathan Administration.
“This is why we refused to participate in what is nothing but a sheer deceit. We have already been vindicated even before the start of the conference,” the party stated.

Brain Cells Use Sleep Time To ‘Flush Out’ Toxins, Restoring Healthy Brain Function

images (7)
A healthy brain requires plenty of restful sleep, not only to support proper memory retention but also for physical maintenance and detoxification purposes. And new research funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health further reinforces these latter points, having found that getting a good night’s rest is absolutely vital for brain cells to fully relax, allowing special fluid to rush in the brain and literally flush out material toxins during the night.

It is a whole new area of brain research that scientists from the Center for Translational Neuromedicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York are pioneering, but it has the potential to revolutionize how the medical community views degenerative brain conditions like Alzheimer’s disease. If simple rest is really the missing ingredient for many people currently suffering the early stages of dementia, then the cure is pretty straight forward.
According to a recent announcement by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), Dr. Maiken Nedergaard, M.D., D.M.Sc., and her colleagues were not expecting the results they eventually arrived at as part of their sleep study. Though it has been hypothesized that sleep somehow helps clear the brain and prepare it for each new day, little is understood about the mechanisms that drive this important process — that is, until now.
As published in the journal Science, the new research identified glia, a type of brain cell, as the controlling mechanism that allows cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to flow through special channels in the brain and scavenge waste. And it is only while a person sleeps, says Dr. Nedergaard and her team, that glia appears to perform this important duty, effectively facilitating a vast network of tiny channels through which CSF can flow and clear out toxins.
The glymphatic system, which activates during sleep, is the brain’s ultimate detoxifier
Much like how the lymphatic system clears out metabolic waste from the rest of the body, the “glymphatic system,” as Dr. Nedergaard calls it, takes care of the cellular trash that otherwise builds up in a person’s brain and impairs neurological function. This even includes those infamous beta-amyloid proteins, which copious research has identified as being linked to Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
“We here report that sleep has a critical function in ensuring metabolic homeostasis,” write the authors in their abstract. “[T]he restorative function of sleep may be a consequence of the enhanced removal of potentially neurotoxic waste products that accumulate in the awake central nervous system.”
The moral of the story, in conclusion, is that sleep is an absolutely critical component of vibrant health. It is during these salient, unconscious hours that the brain is able to cleanse and restore itself in ways that it is unable to do while awake. So be sure to maintain a regular and adequate sleep schedule — your brain will thank you.

Six Pregnant Girls Freed In Baby Factory Raid

police

“We rescued six girls last week at different stages of pregnancy from an illegal maternity home in Port Harcourt,” Joy Elomoko of the Imo State police told AFP.The Nigerian police have raided a baby factory in the oil city of Port Harcourt and arrested a woman accused of harbouring six pregnant girls, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.

She said the youngest of the girls was 14, without disclosing the ages of the others.
“We have also arrested the proprietress of the clinic and she is assisting us in our investigation,” she said.
Elomoko said the raid on the Port Harcourt home followed the arrest of a girl with a baby in nearby Owerri on October 15.
“A lady was found in suspicious circumstances with a day old baby and after interrogation she confessed that she gave birth to a baby in Port Harcourt,” the police spokeswoman said.
Elomoko said police detectives followed the girl to Port Harcourt where six expectant mothers were found in a clinic run by a woman.
“The woman could not produce any document authorising her to operate the clinic and she was subsequently arrested,” she said.
She said the girls also told police that they were being kept in the home to make babies which would be sold to willing buyers.
Elomoko said the suspect would be taken to court after police investigation.
Nigerian police have uncovered a series of alleged baby factories in recent years, notably in the southeastern part of the country. Baby boys can sell for a price of around $250 (180 euros), baby girls for slightly less.
Human trafficking, including the selling of children, is the third most common crime in Nigeria behind fraud and drug trafficking, according to the United Nations.
Nigeria is Africa’s biggest oil producer, but poverty is widespread across the country and most of the estimated 160 million people still live on less than two dollars a day.

She says: “I’m very daring when it comes to interpreting movie roles. I go out of my way to assume that role and execute it to the best of my ability”.
The pretty gap tooth graduate of Economics from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has displayed her acting prowess in the following movies, College Girls, Shakara Babe, Baby Factory, Azonto Babe, Sweet Mistake, Fight for Passion, Great Betrayal, among others.
Wumi Obanla
At a close encounter with the multi-talented Wumi, what comes to the mind of a movie-buff is that she is pretty, sexy and daring. With a model-like physique, outspokenness and uncanny knack for roles interpretation, Wumi who hails from Ondo State and studied Economics from the Lagos State University, is indeed a star to watch out for as she is currently dazzling Nollywood. “I have a passion for acting, and I believe I have a lot to offer the industry”, the soft-spoken and fast rising actress who is currently producing her debut movie-Iyagbajumo-stated. Wumi is also a model that has done several high profile jobs for many multinational organizations.

The Most Beautiful Woman In The World 2013! Omowunmi Akinnifesi S STUNNING On The New Cover Of Y! Magazine

Omowunmi Akinnifesi Cover2 Y! Magazine
She’s back! And already, she is taking no prisoners. Omowunmi Akinnifesi, who was Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2005, has just returned from a 2-year public break, armed with a Master’s degree from King’s College, London and already busy working on policy for the Lagos government.

And with beauty, and smarts, and the will to boot, the Y! magazine editors have presented her as their proud alternative to the international People magazine choice for World’s Most Beautiful Woman 2013, Iron Man actress Gwyneth Paltrow!
“The global pop-culture shock at the decision coupled with an already seething defensiveness about the audacity of deciding on the world’s most beautiful female from the comfort of the United Kingdom inspired us to take the challenge – who would we choose as the World’s Most Beautiful Woman?” the editor, Chude Jideonwo, said. “Omowunmi Akinnifesi who, incidentally took the Nigerian version of the title eight years ago, came into the country just right in time.”
The shoot is photographed by Kelechi Amadi-Obi, directed by managing editor Adebola Williams, styled by Ebun Aboderin, with the profile by Wilfried Okiche.
The magazine also includes incisive op-eds on life and country by some of the country’s best, the Y! list of the Most Influential in business and politics, and an exclusive sit-down with the Ekiti governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
This is rounded up with the best in the culture – music, movies, television, places, literature, radio, and some stunning fashion. “With 30 pages of fashion, and entertainment, go ahead and call it a bouquet,” Jideonwo said.
Y! is available in stores and from vendors across the country. It is also available at all House of Tara Stores in Lagos, Abuja, Ilorin, Port-Harcourt, Benin, Kano, Ibadan and Kaduna and Y! campus representatives in 19 states.  You can also pay for the magazine with your mobile phone and have it delivered to you at no extra charge.
